Tailored Bar Design at The Station House
Almond Pub Co. has been working with Servaclean since 2011, commissioning bespoke under-counter bar systems across their venues in the UK. For their latest project, the company invested £1.2m in the transformation of the former Platform 5 pub, reopening it as The Station House in Cheadle Hulme.
The venue showcases a 1930s-inspired classic design, celebrating the elegance of rail travel with ornate décor, a brass-and-marble bar, plush leather booths, a 100-seat raised sun terrace and widened entryways. Central to the refurbishment is a high-performance under-counter bar, designed to support busy trading periods while complementing the venue’s period-led interiors.

High-Impact Bar Solutions
Servaclean was commissioned to design, manufacture and install a custom bar system to meet The Station House’s operational and aesthetic requirements. The installation was carefully tailored to maximise efficiency and support high-volume service and included:
- A 23-metre stainless steel bar counter with an integral glasswash facility.
- Insulated ICEchests with 33kg ice capacity per chest and LIQUORacks for speed rail service.
- Hygienic GLASShelf storage for approximately 1,320 mixed types of glasses, capable of supporting up to 525 customers at peak trading times.
- GLASSWash/COMBISink with separate bowls for slops disposal, general cleaning and handwashing, complemented by a DRAINERShelf for immediate draining of washed glassware.
Designed for durability, hygiene and operational efficiency, the bar seamlessly complements the venue’s 1930s-inspired décor. Its layout maximises service flow and storage, with easily accessible refrigeration, glassware housing and prep areas. The integrated glasswash and draining facilities allow staff to maintain peak efficiency, ensuring customers are served quickly without compromising quality or hygiene.
Seamless Project Partnership
The Servaclean Project Manager for this installation was Neil Allitt, who worked closely with:
- James Almond from Almond Pub Co. to ensure the bar system met the client’s operational and design requirements.
- Paula Jepmond-Senior and Beth Roddick from Fusion by Design, who led the interior design and brought the venue’s aesthetic vision to life.
- Mark Gill from Fairland Construction, who served as the main contractor and coordinated the on-site construction and installation.
- Denis Maddocks and David Mort from Joseph Holt, providing property ownership and cellar services expertise to support the project.
Bringing the Bar to Life
The bar was installed in September 2025, ahead of The Station House’s opening in October 2025. The result is a high-performance, stylish bar that supports fast, efficient service and enhances the customer experience.
“With the opening of our 5th venue at The Station House, Cheadle, we’re proud to continue our partnership with Servaclean. Their expert advice and top-quality underbar systems have, once again, delivered a high-performance bar that looks as good as it functions. Thanks to the Servaclean team for another outstanding result.” – James Almond, Director, Almond Pub Co.
